Understand the central support schedule.

The PM-Surya Ghar residential CFA has a published capacity-based schedule. Whether a household qualifies depends on the connection, system, equipment, vendor, application, and DISCOM verification.

Schedule reference, not an approval. This page explains the central rate table. It does not decide whether you qualify, guarantee payment, or include any Telangana state incentive.

Residential CFA schedule

MNRE's guidelines list ₹30,000 per kWp for the first 2 kWp, ₹18,000 per kWp for the next 1 kWp, and no additional central assistance above 3 kWp for an individual residential system in a general-category state. The resulting schedule maximum is ₹78,000.

Telangana is not in the guideline's list of special-category states. The special-category rates are therefore not shown here as applicable to the Hyderabad pilot.

The result is calculated only from the capacity rate table. It is not a user's confirmed or likely grant. The official portal and DISCOM determine eligibility and final payment.

Conditions to understand

  • The guidelines cover eligible residential grid-connected rooftop systems under capex mode; they exclude RESCO and utility/state-led aggregation modes from this CFA component.
  • Eligible installations include a system tied to a residential electricity connection and installed on a roof, terrace, balcony, elevated structure, or qualifying building-integrated PV arrangement.
  • Modules must meet the Domestic Content Requirement for CFA eligibility.
  • The consumer applies on the National Portal and chooses a vendor registered there.
  • The DISCOM verifies the installation and processes the portal workflow before CFA is released. The published schedule is not an approval.

For the current application workflow and account-specific decision, use the official PM Surya Ghar portal. SolarWise does not collect consumer account numbers or submit applications.

Telangana policy is a separate question

Telangana's Clean and Green Energy Policy, 2025 includes households among rooftop solarization categories and states that 100% net SGST reimbursement will be given for the listed projects. The household claim route, applicable tax base, and interaction with central CFA have not yet been confirmed for this product.

For that reason, SolarWise does not estimate or add this state incentive to the national schedule. See the source register and open questions.
